Landscapes

Periodically I make drawings and paintings of the landscape in varying degrees of realism or abstraction depending on my intentions. Sometimes I’m sourcing potential locations or specific landscape elements as a setting for a narrative, or sometimes I’m interested in a particular quality such as effects of light or colouring.

Other works, particularly my “walking drawings”, function as a record of the passage of time, or passage of my body and mind through space, noted via the rhythm of pen marks on paper.
